Vector Utility Engineering Ltd was engaged to support a constituent of the FTSE 250 in undertaking a comprehensive review of its existing NERS policies and procedures across its UK network of businesses.

Our scope encompassed the review, recommendation, and implementation of a consolidated framework, bringing together ESM Power Ltd and G2 Energy Ltd—alongside the future integration of Rock Power Connections Ltd—into a unified suite of best-practice procedures.

This framework was designed to support all permitted contestable activity scopes, including the design, project management, and construction of electricity networks up to and including 132kV.

Throughout the project, we maintained close and structured consultation with all key stakeholders.

This included working collaboratively with Mitie’s senior management team, the directors of each respective business, and LRQA’s lead auditing team. This ensured full alignment with Mitie’s strategic vision and values, as well as compliance with the requirements of the NERS accreditation scheme.

Despite a highly demanding timeline, the project was successfully delivered in under three months from appointment. By proactively anticipating challenges and maintaining a focused delivery approach, we exceeded client expectations and received exceptionally positive feedback.

Our scope involved the preparation of a detailed and structured BoQ, encompassing all elements of the proposed works.

This included civil excavations, permitting requirements, labour allocation, and material resourcing. Each component was carefully quantified and aligned with project specifications to ensure accuracy and clarity.

The completed BoQ provided the client with a robust foundation to support their tendering process, enabling informed decision-making and effective cost management across the project lifecycle.
